THE BEATLES - THE SONGS THE BEATLES GAVE AWAY COMPLETE BOX

THE BEATLES - THE SONGS THE BEATLES GAVE AWAY COMPLETE BOX
120 SONGS NEVER RELEASED BEFORE IN THIS FORMAT!

One of the passions of a true Beatles fan who wants everything, is to collect all the songs ever written (or co-written) by all of the 4 Beatles. Such a daunting (and expensive) task has just been made instantly obtainable with this 4 CD set, which, as an added bonus, includes the Beatles' own versions of many of these great songs.

The first disc What becomes obvious after only half of the first disc, is that if the Beatle chosen to record some of these songs officially as a complete album, it would have been a monster hit. For example, on the first disc (which features songs given away while the Beatles were still together) there are no less than 11 top ten hits - a remarkable feat from a group already blessed with "guaranteed hits" status.
The only known (and deliberate) omission from the set is (apart from "Leave it") all of the tracks from Mike McCartney's McGear Album, which is now freely available on CD. We've still included, however, the fab 45 "Leave It", "Sweet Baby" (not on the LP or re-issued CD) and the non-LP 45 "Dance The Do" (in it's original form - the CD version is a dramatically different recent re-mix)

The second disc continues the story into the early 70's, including one-off items like George's "Sing One For The Lord" only available on Billy Preston's otherwise unspectacular "Encouraging Words" Apple up early mixes of the various songs Ringo was given for his "Ringo" LP in 1973, the very rare McCartney penned "4th July" (for John Christie), Billy Lawrie's "Rock And Roller" (co-written by Ringo) and Peggy Lee's "Lets Love" which stands to this day one of McCartney's finest songs.

Disc three takes us through to the recent McCartney/Costello hit "Veronica" and includes both Gary Moore and Eric Claptons' versions of George's "That Kind Of Woman" (clearly Eric wins!) also included on disc 3 is McCartney's "Mine For Me" (Rod Stewart), "Giddy" (roger Daltrey), "On The Wings Of A Nightingale" (Everly Brothers), "Honorary Consul Theme" (John Williams) and the vary rare "New Moon Over Jamaica" (Johnny Cash) which also features Paul singing duet lea
This set will also satisfy those "semi-fans" who don't wish to purchase Ringo's output over the years, by including all songs given to him by the other 3 Beatles: eg. "Cookin' " (John), "Pure Gold" (Paul), "I'll Still Love You" (George), plus the many others as well.

Disc four concludes the set with as many of the Beatles own versions of these songs as has ever been heard til now, for example, we have sourced the acetates of one-off demo's of "Bad To Me", "One And One Is Two", "Step Inside Love", "Goodbye", and "On The Wings Of A Nightingale", a total of 20 performances of the 68 songs given away are included on this the final CD in the set.

DISC 3 - HOLLYWOOD BOWL MASTER VIDEO - Never released before master videos of the concert.

This set does compile the various Hollywood Bowl mixes and edits in one place. However, these two discs don’t include the unedited recordings

Instead, disc one presents the 1977 LP mix (with a 1996 mix edited in at the side flip for maximum continuity) while disc two presents vintage mixes and edits of the 1964 (mono) and 1965 (stereo) shows. [1965 is a different mix/edit from somewhere.]

Don’t let the “Hollywood Bowl Complete” source designation fool you – these are not straight copies of the Yellow Dog release. That CD, especially the 1964 show, sounds rather flat, so we used our proprietary equalization process (first introduced to create the “Revolution” composites on The Beatles Deluxe vol. 6) to make these tapes sound exactly like the vibrant released version. We think it’s a nice improvement.

THE BEATLES "Let it End" Apple Records New Zealand, SAPCOR 42, 2 LPs in 1 CD, 1969

"Having been deluged over the years by numerous outtake LPs from the Let It Be sessions, it is truly refreshing to hear a well organized alternate album (in original track order.)  So here's an LP with the original running order (as much as possible) but All completely different takes.  However, since there are no alternate takes of Maggie Mae in existence, we've substituted the classic The Walk (in stereo) instead.  Why wasn't that on the original LP anyway, it's FAB!  It would have been superb to have left Let it End as a single album, but we still had 22 unreleased songs left over after Revolting.  So, we have taken the opportunity to complete the Let It Be session on this album...We trust you have enjoyed our extensive series of "alternate" albums, and invite you to complete your set with our final release "Lifting Material from the World," where we conclude with a fabulous compilation of rare and previously unheard selections from the solo Beatles."  Ram on!  Leon Throf"

THE BEATLES - ''COMPLEAT '' APPLE UK SINGLES AUDIOPHILE COLLECTION - 11 MINI LP BOX

THE BEATLES - ''COMPLEAT '' APPLE UK SINGLES COLLECTION

WOW, This BOX comes with 10 fantastic Mini LPs full of UK singles in a total of 203 songs. Along with it, one superb mini double Poster that shows 72 covers and labels of the APPLE originals. Besides all Beatles work and solo singles from 1968 to 1996, we also have those APPLE related artists that the Beatles help out, like BADFINGER, MARY HOPKIN, ETC.. But let's be honest, have you ever heard the two Trash singles? Hot Chocolate & Give Peace a Chance or the Sundown Playboys? Or even the FAB Golden Slumbers from a lost DEMO from White Trash, that was produced by George Harrison in 1969? Here you can find them all in audiophile quality for the VERY FIRST TIME! Disc Ten offers FAB stuff like bonus songs, acetates, rejected singles, etc.. this is a very, very rare collection. Essencial recordings before APPLE went belly up. Harrison, 45, 78 singles, Paul 45 singles, canceled singles, singles that were only mailed to John Lennon, 45 and 78 Badfinger singles, James Taylor APPLE singles before he ditched APPLE and all the artists The Beatles helped produced in excellent audiophile quality, one can only find in here! PLUS, A BONUS DVD WITH THE BIRTH OF THE BEATLES EUROPEAN EXTENDED VERSION (ALL REGION)

The real strength of this collection, though, is context. It is one thing to read about Apple, the relationships among the Beatles and the artists in their orbit before and after the breakup, and how Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr sparked each other artistically (or not) as solo artists.
But it is fascinating to actually hear the work in chronological order, as it was recorded and released.

Several obscure singles and B-sides are included that have never been officially released on CD, taken from the original vinyl pressings. There is also interesting miscellany like "King of Fuh" by Brute Force -- a record pressed by Apple but unable to find a distributor  because of its (now rather tame) vulgarity. The quality throughout is excellent.

You have three choices : one is to get all individual APPLE releases, Two, get this amazing compilation or three, listen to Red Rose Spedway and pretend you have everything you need from the post APPLE era...

DISC ELEVEN - BIRTH OF THE BEATLES EUROPEAN EXTENDED VERSION

100 MIN. ALL REGION DVD

The film focuses on the early history of 1960s rock band The Beatles. It was released only nine years after the announced break-up
of The Beatles themselves, and is the only Beatles biopic (others include Backbeat, In His Life: The John Lennon Story, The Hours and Times,
John and Yoko: A Love Story, Lennon Naked and to a lesser extent The Linda McCartney Story) to be made while John Lennon was still alive. The film tries very hard to be accurate, opening with a written statement read out by a narrator stating the authenticity of the production, emphasising as it put it: "former Beatle, Pete Best" acting as technical advisor.

Another attempt at authenticity is that most of the cast look alarmingly similar to the real people they are supposed to be playing. The four actors portraying John, Paul, George and Ringo look uncannily similar to the real deal, but Pete Best and Stu Sutcliffe bear a lesser resemblance. The performances from the actors are also quite good, with Stephen MacKenna and Ray Ashcroft provided stunningly real-sounding vocal impersonations of John and Ringo.
In what has become an unofficial tradition of rock 'n' roll movies based on true stories, some of the real events/sequence of events have been abridged or omitted. This has a positive effect on the film, allowing it to cover a broad stretch of time and not making it feel rushed, while also adding to the drama when the real events may not have been as such. A prime example of this is when Stu Sutcliffe dies of a brain haemorrhage about half-way through the film. In the film, it takes place in the midst of the band's second trip to Hamburg, meaning the other have to deal with this loss and still fulfill their engagement. They still manage to give great performances and they must overcome the tragedy in order to make their journey to fame. In real life, this was not how things happened. In real life, Stu was still alive living in Hamburg with his German girlfriend Astrid when the other departed from the second trip, and it was when they returned on the third trip to Hamburg they discovered Stu had died the
night before they arrived. By adapting events, though, the film not only makes things more dramatic, but in fact speeds things up and
keeps the plot flowing smoothly by only portraying two trips to Hamburg.
