To top it off we managed to get into the vaults and acquire the HIGHLIGHTS of THE BEATLES LIVE IN MAPLE LEAF GARDENS IN 1966, YES, it's exactly what you've heard here and now, WE GOT PIECES OF THE TORONTO 1966 TAPES and it's here in a 30-minute-CD. The most interesting thing about those tapes is not even the show itself, because all the screaming
really outsounds it, but the guy who recorded it in 1966 took a portable recorder to the show, so the tape begins with its narrator introducing his family to an unseen audience as they drive to the venue. The family spent the first few minutes discussing what they think the concert will be like, with succinct and sometimes prophetic observations offered, as well as checks on the time, weather conditions,and the overall pre-concert atmosphere. The sound of the crowd, traffic, program vendors … it's all here. The original owner can be heard later in the tape
spending his time interviewing anxious fans anticipating the appearance of the Beatles and THAT'S THE MOST EXCITING BEATLES THING I'VE EVER HEARD, the atmosphere is just so mad that you can only imagine how fantastic a Beatles show might have been.... THIS TAPE IS UNKNOWN & EXCLUSIVE UNTIL NOW
There are also the opening acts here and parts of all 12 Beatles songs performed on the show.
