This is part of a new Dr. Ebbetts vinyl series – the red Japanese mono
vinyl collection – or simply put, the "red monos". These additions to
the Ebbetts canon are sourced from the original series 1982 Japanese red
mono vinyl LPs, considered by many to be among the very best
representations of The Beatles’ original mono catalogue.
As a bonus you get the best souding Abbey Road album EVER : The Beatles - Abbey Road (Japanese Stereo LP) Pro-Use Series
I've done the comparison's from other editions of this same Abbey Road
(Japanese Pro-Use Series). While they sounded great. My final test was
to test it against the sound of the Original 1983 Japanese EMI/Odeon
Black Traingle CD. This was the first ever Abbey Road CD put out in
Japan. The same Master tapes 50ips were used for the CD that were also
used for the Pro-Use Series LP.
I can honestly now say that
this *IS* the best version of the "Abbey Road" Album bar none that I
have ever heard as nothing usually could quite beat out that original
1983 Japanese CD until NOW!!!
LIKE THE GERMAN DMM ISSUE OF THE WHITE ALBUM, THIS VERSION OF “ABBEY ROAD” IS CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE THE BEST SOUNDING RELEASE OF THIS LP. IT IS VERY WARM AND SMOOTH – MUCH MORE SO (IN MY OPINION) THAN THE MORE COMMON TOSHIBA JAPANESE PRESSING (AP-8815).
The Beatles - Beatles For Sale (Japanese Mono LP) Red Wax
Amazing! This is the best mono version that I've heard. Really, it's a significant improvement over the UK Mono, which was always a bit dull. Listen to the guitar on "Eight Days a Week," or John's vocals on "No Reply." More bold than ever. Great.
This is the real deal. The cream of the crop. The king of the hill. The... ah, well, you get the idea.
The Beatles - Rubber Soul (Japanese Mono LP) Red Wax
But seriously, here it is, folks, THE epitome of Beatles mono, right here. Listen to the jangling guitar on "If I Needed Someone"-- amazing! The angelic Lennon vocals on "Nowhere Man." The acoustic in "Girl." And I could go on.
Really, this sounds absolutely fantastic. The mono mix was always glorious for Rubber Soul, and this just makes it glorious-er (more glorious, yeah, yeah). The whole album simply sounds great, and a significant improvement over the previously released UK Mono version. Most if not all "mud" is gone. Get it, get it!
